Walk With Discomfort™
A philosophy for overcoming performance anxiety and sustaining excellence.
Meet Jeremy
Most athletes spend their lives chasing a single moment of greatness.
Jeremy Campbell has spent two decades learning how to sustain it.
Born with fibular hemimelia and having his right leg amputated at one year old, Jeremy grew up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle where hard work was expected and adaptation was simply part of daily life. He never saw himself as disabled — just someone figuring out a different way to get the job done.
That perspective carried him farther than anyone could have imagined.
That mindset helped propel Jeremy from a multi-sport athlete to one of the most accomplished Paralympians in history — a five-time Paralympic gold medalist, world record holder, two-time ESPY award nominee and ESPY award recipient for Best Male Athlete with a Disability and the only amputee to throw the discus over sixty meters.
Across five Paralympic Games and more than twenty years competing at the highest level, Jeremy has learned something unexpected:
The greatest obstacles are rarely the visible ones.
But his story is not simply about overcoming adversity.
In many ways, Jeremy has come to redefine what “overcoming” even means.
His disability never disappeared.
Pressure never disappeared.
Fear, doubt, setbacks, and the uncomfortable emotions that come with pursuing meaningful things never disappeared either.
What changed was the relationship.
Over time, Jeremy learned that resilience is not always about defeating what challenges us. Sometimes it is about learning how to relate to it differently.
Not treating fear as an enemy to conquer, limitations as the final word, and not waiting for confidence before moving forward.
But learning how to Walk With Discomfort™ instead of resisting it.
To adapt, stay grounded and keep showing up.
Across more than two decades competing at the highest level of sport, Jeremy has learned that sustained excellence rarely comes from becoming fearless. It comes from changing our relationship to the anxieties, beliefs and doubts we carry, until what once felt like a burden becomes something we know how to carry well.
BEYOND THE PODIUM
Today, Jeremy speaks to organizations, teams, and schools about overcoming performance anxiety and a mindset that sustains performance.
But his message goes beyond overcoming adversity.
Through powerful storytelling and practical lessons forged over two decades of elite competition, Jeremy helps audiences rethink the invisible limits shaping confidence, performance, and possibility.
Because in sport, business, leadership, and life, our biggest barriers are often not the circumstances in front of us, but the relationships we have with them.
